Colombian counterpuncher Darleys Perez will once again defend his WBA lightweight title against Anthony Crolla on Nov. 21 in Manchester, England.

The pair fought their way to a majority draw in July but the consensus opinion among fans and media was that Crolla has done enough to earn the victory. There were no knockdowns but two points were deducted from Perez for low blows and the ensuing controversy created ample demand for a direct rematch.

I’m so pleased for Anthony that he gets another bite of the cherry in his home city,” said promoter Eddie Hearn in a press release issued by Matchroom Boxing.

I haven’t found anyone yet who didn’t feel that he won the first fight but that’s in the past now and he has to make this count. I feel like he is destined to win a world title and I truly believe his dreams will come true.”

The WBA granted Crolla a second crack at Perez (32-1-1, 20 knockouts) and promoter Eddie Hearn completed the deal with the Englishman once again securing home advantage.

Tickets for Crolla’s rematch with Perez will go on sale to Matchroom Fight Pass members at midday on Sunday Sept. 20 with the general sale from the venue from midday the following day (Sept. 21). A further announcement on pricing and the undercard will be made soon.

Crolla (29-4-3, 11 KOs) is on holiday with his family but will comment on the rematch at a press conference soon.
