Yes, he lost his last outing, but Manny Pacquiao is still, arguably, the best-known boxer on the planet. Masses want to know, thus, when will the Fighting Congressman fight again? He had surgery on a torn right shoulder after his May 2 loss to Floyd Mayweather, and will need time to get that injured wing back to form. How much time? I asked Freddie Roach during a visit to his Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.

“It could be awhile … I”m looking at three to six months from now,” “Dedham” Freddie told me. That mean he could fight this year? Likely he will start getting ready for a 2016 fight at the end of this year, the trainer said.

And would he go in tough … or take a rust-shedder bout, against someone he’d be quite likely to defeat? If the shoulder rehab goes well, the tutor said, he thinks Manny will take on an A-grade guy.

OK, like who?

Danny Garcia, “he’d be a good opponent,” Fred said … and another Mayweather tangle would be an option, though the first foray took a lot out of anyone involved, he noted.
