Abraham Lopez, Joet Gonzalez to host youth boxing clinic

Featherweight standout Abraham Lopez and 122-pound prospect Joet Gonzalez will host a free youth boxing clinic on Thursday at City of Angels Gym in Los Angeles.

Working with the All Peoples Community Center summer youth camp, the fighters – who will be assisted by Golden Boy Promotions fighters set to make their professional debut, Hector “El Finito” Tanajara, Jonathan Navarro, and Joshua Franco – will lead children ages 7 to 13 in various boxing techniques, with a focus on building confidence and encouraging fitness among the youth.

Lopez (18-0-1, 13 knockouts), a 27-year-old native of La Puente, California native, headlines the August 6 edition of “LA Fight Club” at Belasco Theater in downtown L.A. His fight and three others will be televised on Fox Deportes.

Gonzalez (11-0, 4 KOs), a 21-year-old L.A. native, is featured on the undercard of the HBO Latino-televised Johan Perez-Dmitry Mikhaylenko fight on August 8 at Fantasy Springs Casino Resort in Indio, California.
