Trainer Henry Ramirez announced via Facebook on Friday that former world heavyweight title challenger Chris Arreola will be back in action on July 18. And if Ramirez’s use of the exclamation-mark key is any indication, enthusiasm is high:

Happy to announce Chris Arreola will be returning to the ring July 18 in El Paso, Tx on CBS!!!!! There will be two shows that day one that begins at 1pm pacific time then one in the evening on showtime headlines by Chavez Jr.!!! Both events will take place at Don Haskins Center on the UTEP campus!!!!!

The date would put Arreola on a card featuring RING No. 1-rated junior featherweight Carl Frampton defending his IBF title against Alejandro Gonzalez, as well as the 10-round bout matching Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. against Marcos Reyes.

Arreola will be in his second fight since falling short of becoming the first American titleholder since Shannon Briggs by losing a sixth-round TKO to then-WBC titleholder Bermane Stiverne in May 2014. The honor would instead be claimed by Deontay Wilder, who beat Stiverne by unanimous decision in January.

Arreola’s last outing was an entertaining but no-so-encouraging eight-rounder against Curtis Harper, whom he edged out by a unanimous decision in March, aided by a first-round knockdown.

Ramirez did not specify an opponent for Arreola in his post.
