Unbeaten former featherweight title challenger Jayson Velez will face once-beaten prospect Daniel Ramirez in the main event of the June 4 installment of LA Fight Club at The Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, Golden Boy Promotions announced. The popular monthly series will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes.

Ronny Rios was scheduled to top the card but the Orange County featherweight standout had to withdraw due to injury.

“In response to high demand, LA Fight Club is back for the fourth time and will feature another card of thrilling fights from start to finish,” Oscar De La Hoya, Founder and President of Golden Boy Promotions, stated in a press release. “These sellouts crowds demonstrate that boxing is not dead. The fans want to be entertained; they want to see fighters give it their all and battle it out in the ring for the win, and that is what LA FIGHT CLUB continues to deliver every month.”

Velez (22-0-1, 16 KOs), THE RING’s No. 10-rated featherweight from Caguas, Puerto Rico, is coming off a 12-round draw with unbeaten IBF titleholder Evgeny Gradovich last November. Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico’s Ramirez (11-1, 5 KOs) fought in the U.S. in all of his 2014 bouts, facing top prospects Guy Robb, Aaron Garcia, and Eric Hunter. He is looking to impress in his first fight of 2015.

Opening the telecast, undefeated Angeleno and local favorite Christian “Chimpa” Gonzalez (9-0, 9 KOs) returns to The Belasco Theater for his second appearance at LA Fight Club in a six-round junior lightweight bout.
