Pacquiao Mayweather weighin

Floyd Mayweather Jr. weighed in at 146 pounds while Manny Pacquiao tipped the scale at 145 pounds for Saturday’s fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The weigh-in itself was a huge event with an estimated 9000 people present to see the fighters step onto the scales. [Note: the promoter later put the number at 11,500 in attendance.] Rappers Flo Rida and Doug E. Fresh provided entertainment for the crowd, which was soon chanting in the lead-up to introductions by Michael Buffer.

Pacquiao arrived first and appeared relaxed, grinning as he took to the stage. A loose-looking Mayweather soon followed and seemed to be enjoying himself as well.

The winner of the welterweight unification bout will take home the RING, WBC, WBA and WBO belts — all the major titles except for the IBF belt, which is owned by Kell Brook. Both fighters will earn record-shattering paydays projected to be in excess of $100 million apiece.

For the undercard, Leo Santa Cruz weighed 124.5 pounds to Jose Cayetano’s 125 pounds, and Vasyl Lomachenko was 125.5 pounds to Gamalier Rodriguez’s 126 pounds.
