Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua will face Brazilian puncher Rafael Zumbano Love on May 9 in Birmingham, England, as he looks to sharpen his tools ahead of a clash with former heavyweight title challenger Kevin Johnson.

Love, an experienced pro, is 6ft 4in tall with a record of 36-10-1, 29 knockouts. The vast majority of his opposition has been undistinguished however, and although the 34-year-old went the distance against American veteran Shannon Briggs last year, in a losing effort, he has been stopped on three occasions.

Joshua, from Watford, England, is already scheduled to face Kevin Johnson on May 30 in London. The monstrous 25-year-old is unbeaten with 11 straight wins coming inside schedule and he remains one of the hottest prospects in world boxing today.

On the same card Sam Eggington faces Joseph Lamptey for the vacant Commonwealth welterweight title, which was relinquished by Frankie Gavin. And also appearing will be super flyweight Kal Yafai, Brian Rose, Matthew Macklin, and new super middleweight standout Callum Smith.

The show will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the U.K. and coincides with a strong card in Hidalgo, Texas, which features Tomoki Kameda versus Jamie McDonnell at bantamweight and Omar Figueroa versus Ricky Burns at junior welterweight.
