THE RING wins eight BWAA writing awards

THE RING was a big winner in the 14th annual Boxing Writers Association of American contest, taking eight awards.
Springs Toledo, a journalist and author, was the top individual winner. He took four awards, two first places and two second places.
THE RING winners: Joseph Santoliquito, three honorable mentions (news story, feature story under 1,500 words and feature story over 1,500 words); Michael Rosenthal, third place (feature story under 1,500 words); and four more honorable mentions (Gordon Marino, feature under 1,500 words; Lee Groves, feature over 1,500 words; Bernard Fernandez, feature over 1,500 words, and Norm Frauenheim, investigative reporting).
The winners will be recognized at the 90thannual BWAA Awards Dinner, which is April 24 at Capitale in New York City.
