Once-beaten junior welterweight veteran Paul Spadafora will face Jake Giuriceo on Feb. 20 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Tom Brown of Goossen Promotions announced on Monday.

Spadafora-Giuriceo will happen off television on the undercard of a main event between welterweights Sammy Vasquez and Emmanuel Lartey that will happen on Showtime’s “ShoBox: The New Generation.”

The 39-year-old former lightweight titleholder, who is known as “The Pittsburgh Kid,” is coming off a unanimous decision over Hector Velazquez last July. Spadafora (49-1-1, 19 knockouts) suffered his first loss to twice-beaten contender Johan Perez in November 2013.

The 29-year-old Giuriceo (17-2-1, 4 KOs), of Youngstown, Ohio, is coming off a fourth-round technical knockout of Travis Hartman in July to rebound from consecutive decision losses to Michael Clark and Peter Oluoch in July and December 2012.

Spadafora was once a highly-rated fighter before he was derailed by repeated troubles with the law. He won the IBF lightweight title by unanimous decision over Israel Cardona in August of 1999 and defended it eight times.
