Al Haymon and the NBC network announced their anticipated new boxing series on Wednesday. The first significant fights of the new series includes a March 7 doubleheader in Las Vegas topped by Robert Guerrero-Keith Thurman and Adrien Broner-John Molina, and an April 11 junior welterweight showdown between RING champ Danny Garcia and IBF beltholder Lamont Peterson in New York City.

The new series, entitled Premier Boxing Champions, has 20 show dates scheduled through 2015, and possibly beyond this year, that will air on NBC Sports Net and NBC (11 episodes will be on the main network, and five are slated to be prime-time shows). The network will provide pre- and post-fight coverage of the fights.

Hall-of-fame former champ Sugar Ray Leonard will be the boxing analyst of the show, broadcast legend Al Michaels will do the blow-by-blow commentary.

More details on the series will follow, and a full report will be posted by Lem Satterfield, who covered Wednesday’s press conference at NBC Studios in New York City.
