Frankie Gomez: ‘I’m 100 percent loyal to Oscar De La Hoya’
Undefeated junior welterweight prospect Frankie Gomez has renewed his promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions, president and founder Oscar De La Hoya announced on Friday.
“Frankie Gomez is a natural talent, and that’s why I have no doubt that he’ll be the next super star and the next world champion from East Los Angeles,” said De La Hoya. “The truth is that we are very happy to continue promoting Frankie and help him to continue on his quest for a world title.”
The 22-year-old Gomez (18-0, 13 knockouts) was last in action for a unanimous decision victory over Vernon Paris in July.
“This is clearly a huge opportunity for me because extending my contract with Golden Boy Promotions tells me that they have full confidence in me,” said Gomez. “I’m 100 percent loyal to Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions. I have the experience, and I’m ready to face bigger challenges and win my first world title.”
