Perfect Execution, the popular illustrated technical guide to boxing by legendary champion Bernard Hopkins, is back as a regular feature in the pages of THE RING magazine. That includes the November 2014 issue, which is on newsstands now.

RingTV’s Bill Emes ventured to Philadelphia, prior to Hopkins’ IBF-WBA light heavyweight title unification victory over Beibut Shumenov, to capture a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot and interview for the ongoing series.

The sixth installment of the new Perfect Execution focuses on the uppercut.

“The importance of the uppercut is to get an opponent’s head out of a tight defense,” says Hopkins. “You see guys with their chins tucked and not looking up. That’s when you jump on the opportunity to throw the uppercut. Then you can go from there.”
