A deal has been reached for IBF junior lightweight titleholder Rances Barthelemy to defend his belt against Fernando David Saucedo on Oct. 4 at a site to be determined with the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn. among the leading candidates.

Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing handles Barthelemy, while Saucedo is promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz.

IBF Championships Chairman Lindsey Tucker said he has “tentatively approved” Barthelemy-Saucedo, pending the arrival of the contracts and confirmation of the site and date.

“The Barthelemy and Saucedo contracts have been signed. The fight will be on Oct. 4,” said Margules. “But I am not sure what network but probably on Showtime. I am not sure where it will be yet either but maybe at Foxwoods.”

Barthelemy (20-0, 12 knockouts) is coming off a unanimous decision that dethroned then-beltholder Argenis Mendez on July 10 while Saucedo (52-5-3, 8 KOs) has won 14 straight fights, seven by knockout, and is coming off a third round technical knockout of Luis Armando Juarez in June.
