RING number four-rated junior featherweight Scott Quigg will face Paulus Ambunda on Sept. 13 at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, England, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport announced on Tuesday.

The hard-hitting Quigg (28-0-2, 21 knockouts) is 7-0-2 with seven knockouts in his past nine fights and will be after his third consecutive stoppage win against Ambunda (21-1, 10 KOs), a former titleholder.

Quigg, 25, was last in action for a second-round knockout of Tshifhiwa Munyai in April at Phones 4u Arena and will be making his third consecutive appearance at the venue against Ambunda.

Ambunda, 33, is coming off a unanimous decision over Cristian Palma in May that helped him bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Tomoki Kameda in August 2013 that dethroned him as WBO beltholder.

Also on the card is a lightweight bout between Andy Crolla and Gamaliel Diaz.

In other bouts, lightweight Scotty Cardle meets Kirk Goodings and welterweight Sam Eggington faces Denton Vassell.

“We are excited to be back in Manchester in September for another big night. Scott and Anthony are becoming regular fixtures at the arena with great support and both are in major fights on September 13. Scott is in scintillating form and ready to stamp his authority on the division,” said Hearn.

“Anthony has another tough fight against former world champ Diaz, who mixed with the likes of Robert Guerrero, Jorge Linares and Humberto Soto before travelling to Japan to win the WBC title. Scotty Cardle is in a crunch match with English champion Kirk Goodings, with the winner becoming the mandatory challenger for British champion Terry Flanagan and Manchester’s Denton Vassell takes on Sam Eggington in what promises to be a barnburner.”
