Robert Guerrero and Yoshihiro Kamegai made weigh on Friday for their Showtime Championship Boxing main event at Stub Hub Center in Carson, Calif., on Saturday. Guerrero weighed 146 pounds. Kamegai weighed 146.75. Gary Russell Jr. and Vasyl Lomachenko both weighed 125.5 pounds for their co-featured WBO featherweight title bout.

Former welterweight titleholder Devon Alexander weighed in at 148.2 pounds for his 10-round junior middleweight bout against veteran gatekeeper Jesus Soto Karass, which opens the Showtime tripleheader.

"Skills pay the bills but if I see the knockout and I smell blood, I'm going for it," said Alexander, who wants to rebound from his unanimous decision loss to Shawn Porter, which cost him the IBF belt last December.

Lomachenko is also coming off a decision loss Orlando Saldio for the WBO featherweight title. The Ukrainian amateur star told Showtime's Brian Custer (through his manager's translations) that he will "thow more punches" and use "much more movement" against Russell than he did with Salido. Custer brought up Russell's dismissive talk going into their bout.

"Gary Russell can say whatever he wants but he has to do it in the ring and that's not going to happen," said Lomachenko.

Russell says fans can expect what they normally see from him: "speed, power, explosivness and a tremendous amount of ring IQ."

Guerrero, like Alexander and Lomachenko, is trying to get his career back on track following a loss — only he lost to the sport's pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. last May.

"I learned a lot and I learned a lot about myself being in that mega-event," he told Custer.
