All-Access: Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Canelo Alvarez wins Sports Emmy

Showtime Sports won a Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Edited Sports Event Coverage for All Access: Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Canelo Alvarez Epilogue, the network announced on Wednesday.

The program, which chronicled the aftermath of Mayweather's majority decision over Alvarez for the RING, WBA and WBC 154-pound championships, was awarded during Tuesday's 35th annual Sports Emmy ceremony in New York City.

Mayweather (46-0, 25 knockouts) is coming off Saturday's majority decision over Marcos Maidana for the RING, WBA and WBC 147-pound championships at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Nicaraguan featherweight Rene Alvarado (20-2, 14 KOs), who is 25, will face former Olympic silver medalist and title challenger Rocky Juarez (29-10-1, 21 KOs), 35, and junior welterweight KeAnre Gibson (9-0-1, 4 KOs), 24, will face an opponent to be determined on the May 26 Golden Boy Live! show as FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes salutes the men and women of the Armed Forces with a special edition from the Fort Bliss' Stout Fitness Center in El Paso, Texas.

The evening will be free for members of the military as several U.S. Army soldier-athletes compete in undercard bouts. The Army's World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) trains and promotes nationally and internationally ranked soldiers who are vying to represent the army and the United States at the Olympic and Paralympic Games guided by head boxing coach and staff sergeant Charles Leverette.

Also, Ryan Karl will make his professional debut in a four-round welterweight bout opposite Wilbert Mitchell (1-10).
