RING/WBA/WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia plans to make one more defense of his belt before rising into the welterweight division, leaving open the chance for Adrien Broner to win a fourth title in as many divisions, Garcia said during a Saturday interview with Showtime's Brian Kenny.

A Philadelphia resident who turned 26 last month, Garcia (28-0, 16 knockouts) was sitting adjacent to the 24-year-old Broner (27-1, 22 KOs) when he declared his next 140-pound bout could be his last.

"My next fight, that's probably going to be my last fight at 140," said Garcia, during the broadcast of IBF and WBA light heavyweight titleholder Bernard Hopkins' unanimous decision over former counterpart Beibut Shumenov.

"I'll go up to 147, so [Broner] might be the next king at 140. I've got one more and then, 147, here I come. So you guys had better watch out. I've got my eyes open."

Garcia is coming off last month's majority decision over Mauricio Herrera on Showtime that followed his unanimous decision over Lucas Matthysse in the co-featured bout to Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s majority decision over Saul Alvarez last September.

Garcia and Broner were on hand at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C., for Bernard Hopkins-Beibut Shumenov, where Broner declared his desire to win a fourth belt at 140 pounds.

Broner is scheduled for the May 3 undercard of the Mayweather-Maidana fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Showtime Pay-Per-View, where he will face Carlos Molina in the former's junior welterweight debut.

Before losing to Maidana, Broner had earned title belts over three weight classes, taking the WBO's junior lightweight belt by third-round knockout over Vicente Martin Rodriguez in November 2011 and the WBC's lightweight title following an eighth-round stoppage of Antonio DeMarco in November 2012.

In his previous bout last June, Broner jumped two weight divisions for his 147-pound debut with a split decision victory that dethroned Paulie "The Magic Man" Malignaggi for the division's WBA's belt.

"I will be going into history when I'm done with boxing. I wasn't going to say this but since I am being ambushed and crowded by so many great-looking reporters, I'm going to let you know that I will be trying to make history," said Broner.

"I don't know if it's been done before but I'm going to have to tell you. I'm going to be a four-time world champion in four different weight classes at the age of 24. I'm trying to do that."
