There were a few moments during Wednesday's open workouts at the Bald Eagle Recreation Center in Southwest, Washington, D.C., during which Peter Quillin's eyes were locked on Saturday night's rival, Lukas Konecny.

A 30-year-old WBO middleweight titleholder, Quillin (30-0, 22 knockouts) was already prepared for action, even though he is not scheduled to defend against Konecny (50-4, 23 KOs) until Saturday night at the D.C. Armory in Washington, D.C., on Showtime.

"I see him right now. He's right across the way. I can actually see the guy," said Quillin. "I'm ready to fight right now actually but I'm actually going to see him for 36 minutes of fight time on Saturday, so that's all I'm worried about right now."

Quillin-Konecny will be the opening bout of a tripleheader whose main event matches IBF light heavyweight beltholder Bernard Hopkins (54-6-2, 32 knockouts) against WBA counterpart Beibut Shumenov (14-1, 9 KOs). Between Quillin-Konecny and Hopkins-Shumenov will be a welterweight bout between IBF titleholder Shawn Porter (23-0-1, 14 KOs) and Paulie Malignaggi (33-5, 7 KOs).

"If he wants to look at me, that's cool but I'm not worried about that," said Quillin. "I don't have to look at him now. I'm focused and I am ready and this is my time to shine and I'm going to capitalize and seize the moment."

The Showtime broadcasts starts at 9 p.m., ET/PT.
