Not long after arriving in Puerto Rico for Saturday's defense against Mauricio Herrera, RING, WBA and WBC junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia declared "I am not coming here to lose my title."

A 25-year-old Philadelphia native whose parents were born in Puerto Rico, Garcia (27-0, 16 knockouts) will face Herrera (20-3, 7 KOs) on Showtime at the historic Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon.

"I am going to come and defend like always. It's not going to be easy. It's going to be a tough fight but I have prepared like I always prepare. I am ready to defend my title and win," said Garcia, according to a press release from Golden Boy Promotions. He was speaking just after landing with his father and trainer, Angel Garcia, at San Juan International Airport.

"I love being in Puerto Rico. I am so excited that they embrace me and I feel that I am giving back to my fans. I want to give them a good show. You can expect to see that same fast, powerful Danny. All excitement, and they are going to leave knowing that they got their money's worth."

In Herrera, 33, Garcia meets a winner of two straight fights who owns a unanimous decision victory over current WBO 140-pound belt holder Ruslan Provodnikov from January of 2011.

"It's a great honor for me to bring my son, the world champion, in front of our own people, where I was born and grew up. I am back at home with my son performing," said Angel Garcia.

"Training went great. It has been the same as the last 26 fights. We trained hard, and we didn't change anything. Everything was the same. The same winning combination, and we don't expect any different results. It's going to be a win."

The Garcia-Herrera card also boasts a WBC heavyweight eliminator between 2008 Olympic bronze medalist  Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (30-0, 30 KOs) and veteran Malik Scott (36-1-1, 13 KOs).

It has been declared that the victor in the Wilder-Scott bout will be the mandatory challenger to the winner of the Bermane Stiverne-Chris Arreola fight, which is for the title vacated by Vitali Klitschko.

On Showtime Extreme, Juan Manuel Lopez  (33-3, 30 KOs) will have a 130-pound clash with Daniel Ponce de Leon (45-5, 35 KOs), a fellow two-division titleholder whom Lopez stopped in the first round for the WBO junior featherweight title in June 2008.
