Deontay Wilder-Malik Scott is a WBC title eliminator
The WBC has declared the heavyweight bout between Deontay Wilder and Malik Scott to be an eliminator.
The victor will be the mandatory challenger to the winner of the Bermane Stiverne-Chris Arreola fight, which is for the title vacated by Vitali Klitschko.
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer informed RingTV.com on Thursday that he received the letter from the WBC determining that Wilder (30-0, 30 knockouts) or Scott (36-1-1, 13 KOs) will be next in line to challenge either Stiverne or Arreola, whose bout has not yet been scheduled.
Wilder and Scott will meet on March 15 at the historic Colisio Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, as part of a Showtime card to be headlined by RING champion Danny Garcia and Mauricio Herrera.
