Jean Pascal dominated Lucian Bute en route to a one-sided unanimous-decision victory in a 12-round light heavyweight fight Saturday in Montreal.

Pascal (29-2-1, 17 knockouts) dominated a listless Bute (31-2, 24 KOs) by punching in fierce flurries and landing the more eye-catching punches. Neither fighter was seriously hurt, and no one went down.

The scores were 116-112, 117-110 and 117-111.

Bute was inexplicably hesitant throughout the fight, as his corner told him late in the fight. His best round was the 12^th, in which he unloaded dozens of hard punches in an effort to score a knockout but came up short.

The victory puts Pascal in the thick of the mix in a deep 175-pound division. Bute has now lost two of his last three fights. He was stopped by Carl Froch in the fifth round last May.
