A representative of three-division titlewinner Shane Mosley said that the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer has resolved issues and agreed to terms for an Oct. 23 bout at 154 pounds in Australia against Anthony Mundine.

Mosley’s assistant, Hassan Abdul-Rahim Jr., confirmed that the fighter would be present to officially announce the bout at Friday’s Los Angeles-based press conference organized by Mundine’s promoter, Vlad Warton.

“The fight’s on, and they’re having a press conference today,” said Abdul-Rahim. “Shane can’t answer right now, because he’s trying to get to the press conference, but everything is in place for the fight, so the fight is on.”

Mosley (47-8-1, 39 KOs) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Mexico’s Pablo Cesar Cano in May, but was 0-3-1 in his last four heading into the bout, with losses against Canelo Alvarez, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., and a draw with Sergio Mora.

Although he had informed RingTV.com that he hoped return to action prior to his 42nd birthday on Sept. 7, Mosley had cast doubt that the Mundine fight would come to fruition.

“I’m supposed to fight Anthony Mundine, but they’re having problems sending the money to escrow, so the fight might not happen. I really don’t want to fight at 154 anyway,” said Mosley at the time.

“So the next fight could e at 147. The problem now is the money, and the money they put in there. If they can’t put a measly $300,000 into the account, then how are we going to fight for the money they are talking about?”

Mundine (44-5, 26 KOs), 38, was last in the ring in January, when he lost by unanimous decision in a rematch with IBF middleweight titleholder Daniel Geale, whom he’d beaten by a controversial split decision in 2009.

Among Mosley’s career-highs are a pair of victories over Oscar De La Hoya, two consecutive knockouts over Fernando Vargas, and stoppage wins over Antonio Margarito and Ricardo Mayorga. Mosley also has triumphed over world titleholders Jesse James Leija, John John Molina, Phillip Holiday and Luis Collazo, knocking out Leija and Molina in lightweight title bouts.

Mosley’s other losses include two each to Winky Wright and the late Vernon Forrest, as well once against Miguel Cotto.

“I believe I can beat Antony Mundine, I believe I can knock him out,” said Mosley. “His chin is not that good. I’m gonna go to 154, pick up the money, come on back and fight at 147. Anyone at 147.”
