Terence Crawford stopped Alejandro Sanabria 17 seconds into the sixth round of a scheduled 10-round lightweight fight on the Mikey Garcia-Juan Manuel Lopez card Saturday in Dallas.

Crawford (21-0, 16 knockouts) ended matters with a single lead left hook moments after the start of the sixth round that put Sanabria (34-2-1, 25 KOs) down. The Mexican was able to get up but was too wobbly to continue.

Crawford, who had been fighting at junior welterweight, looked comfortable at 135 pounds. He took his time to feel out Sanabria in the first few rounds but gradually took control, landing hard shots to both the head and body to break down his foe.

Sanabria landed a handful of solid punches, particularly in the second round, but was never able to hurt the winner.

Crawford was coming off a one-sided decision over Breidis Prescott in a 140-pound fight in March. Sanabria had never fought outside Mexico before Saturday.

A full report will follow shortly.
