DETROIT — Cornelius “K-9” Bundrage and Ishe Smith comfortably made weight for their Showtime-televised IBF junior middleweight title clash Saturday night in Detroit.

Then things got a little bit uncomfortable.

Bundrage took the microphone from the house MC at the Masonic Temple after the requisite stare down and photo op, and proceeded to call out Floyd Mayweather, who was standing on the other side of the stage. Mayweather Promotions handles Smith, and is a co-promoter of the event.

“After I finish Ishe, I want you Floyd,” said Bundrage, which elicited laughter from Mayweather and his Money Team entourage. “I see you laughing. I can’t tell if y’all the Money Team or the Funny Team.”

Mayweather took the barbs in stride, and remained on the stage for roughly 20 minutes to sign autographs for fans.

The hometown favorite Bundrage weighed in officially at 152.8, while Smith came in at 152.6.

Things didn’t go quite as smoothly on the scales for the co-feature. Junior middleweight prospect J’Leon Love, also of Detroit, hit the contracted weight of 161. His opponent, Derrick Findley (who took the fight on 10 days notice), came in .6 pounds overweight. At the conclusion of the weigh-in, it was not yet known if Findley had shed the extra weight or if a financial agreement was made.

Love seemed unconcerned with the weight issue, and his opponent altogether.

“Muscles don’t win fights,” said Love. “We wanted Findley. After Bronco McKart fell through, we wanted Findley, a guy who was going to come forward and come at us.”

Of note on the undercard, super middleweight prospect Badou Jack weighed in at 167.8 for his clash against hard-charging Don Mouton (164.8).

Weights for the remainder of the card were as follows:

Featherweights: Brulio Santos 127.4, Terrance Walker 127

Super middleweights: Luis Arias 163.2, Edgar Perez 163.8

Super middleweights: Terrell Gausha 164, Lekan Byfield 163

Junior middleweights: Jacob Bones 153, Coy Witt 152.2

Cruiserweights: Steve Geffrard 188.2, Kentrell Claiborne 190.2

Super middleweights: Kelly Henderson 169.2, D’Mitrius Ballard 164.4
