Love him or loathe him, Mayweather, alongside Manny Pacquiao, is boxing’s leading protagonist on a global stage. The American and the Filipino transcend boxing, each for divergent reasons.
Mayweather is a rebellious anti-hero, wrecking his way through life with “I did it my way” clunking away behind him like an oversized gold box-chain.
On the eve of Mayweather’s contest this weekend against Miguel Cotto, which some, including Schaefer, say is Mayweather’s greatest challenge since Oscar De La Hoya five years ago – Schaefer spoke exclusively to Telegraph Sport about the unbeaten boxer’s “marketing genius.”
