Bantamweight titleholder Nonito Donaire, who bolted to Golden Boy Promotions while still under contract with Top Rank in March, has signed a "very healthy" four-year deal with Top Rank, his manager, Cameron Dunkin, told RingTV.com.

The agreement was brokered by Top Rank President Todd duBoef, Donaire and the fighter’s wife, Rachel.

"Nonito signed what's basically a four-year deal, so he's going to be around with Top Rank for a while," Dunkin said.

Top Rank issued a news release to announce the deal Monday evening.

“I am very happy and pleased to announce a recent reconciliation between Top Rank, and myself, and I am also extremely excited to announce that I will be back in the ring this coming October,” Donaire stated in the release.  “There were some details that required attention, and I feel confident now that my professional goals are being understood and respected by Top Rank.  And we have likewise come to a mutual understanding and agreement as far as our common objectives in boxing and how we can work better together as a team. I was able to sit down and figure out the fight map, which both Top Rank and I could agree with. Having a shared goal now, and working together, I’m certain will only make for better fights, and better boxing, now and in the future.

Said duBoef, "We are thrilled to move forward with Nonito, his team and capitalize on what we have built together. Nonito has unlimited ability and charisma which was on display in his last thrilling performance against Fernando Montiel. A bright future lies ahead for Nonito and Top Rank.”

Dunkin also said that duBoef has not yet worked out a deal with either HBO or Showtime to broadcast Donaire’s next fight, but that he is in discussions with both.

"It's a good deal, I think,” he said. “We haven't got a date yet for his next fight, but we're hoping to have a date today or tomorrow."

Donaire had left Top Rank and signed with rival Golden Boy, after which an independent arbiter ruled that the fighter was bound to Top Rank.

Donaire (26-1, 18 knockouts) last fought on Feb. 19 in Las Vegas, scoring a second-round knockout of Fernando Montiel. The triumph was Donaire’s 25th consecutive victory and 10th KO in his past 12 fights.

The Filipino-born resident of San Leandro, Calif., is No. 3 on THE RING’s pound-for-pound list.
