EPIX, the newly formed entertainment network that entered the boxing business by airing Vitali Klitschko's WBC heavyweight title defense against Odlanier Solis in March, announced that it would broadcast its second title fight with WBO light heavyweight beltholder Juergen Braehmer's mandatory defense against Nathan Cleverly live (beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET in the U.S.) on May 21.

The multi-platform premium entertainment service will exclusively televise Braehmer-Cleverly, plus a super middleweight co-feature between undefeated British prospects James DeGale and George Groves, in the U.S., and the network's wesite, EpixHD.com, will also stream the broadcast as part of a free two-week trial offer.

Also, EPIX will present the closed-captioned simulcast of the main event on a jumbotron screen in Times Square (Broadway at 44th St.), as it did with the Klitschko-Solis fight, beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Braehmer-Cleverly will take place Saturday, May 21, at The O2 arena in London. Braehmer (36-2, 29 knockouts), a veteran southpaw from Germany, will attempt to make the second defense of the WBO belt against Cleverly (21-0, 10 KOs), a 24-year-old Welshman who is considered one of Britain's most talented fighters. Clevelry, THE RING's No. 5-rated light heavyweight, became Braehmer's mandatory challenger after stopping undefeated contender Karo Murat in 10 rounds last October. The college grad won the WBO's interim title with a unanimoius decision over Nadjib Mohammedi last December.

The co-featured bout between DeGale (10-0, 8 KOs) and Groves (12-0, 10 KOs) is a heavily anticipated grudge match in Britain. Both British super middleweight prospects were amateur standouts (DeGale won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics), clearly talented, and the two have been rivals going back to an amateur bout won by Groves.

"With so much attention being focused on the light heavyweight division lately, EPIX is very happy to be able to present this exciting world title fight between defending WBO champion Juergen Braehmer and WBO interim champion Nathan Cleverly and James DeGale against George Groves," said Mark Greenberg, President and CEO of EPIX. "Combined, 39 of their 57 victories have come by knockout. It's a good bet knockout No. 40 will occur during this exciting rumble."
