Baltimore Ravens safety Tommy Zbikowski, a former amateur boxer who has fought once as a pro, will return to the ring on the March 12 Miguel Cotto-Ricardo Mayorga show in Las Vegas.

Zbikowski’s fight will open the pay-per-view portion of the show. His opponent has not been selected.

The former Notre Dame football star will be fighting in Las Vegas for the first time.

“I’ve played in an AFC championship game and Notre Dame Stadium. I’ve fought at Madison Square Garden and MGM Grand. I would like someone to beat that,” Zbikowski told the Baltimore Sun.

The NFL owners and players are currently in negotiations on a new collective-bargaining agreement, which could result in a work stoppage if they can’t reach a deal.

Zbikowski, a Chicago Golden Gloves finalist, reportedly was 75-15 as a amateur. He knocked out Robert Bell in the first round in his only pro fight, on June 10, 2006 at Madison Square Garden.

Zbikowski has played three seasons with the Ravens.
