Andre Ward will defend his super middleweight title against Sakio Bika as part of a Showtime doubleheader on Nov. 27, the network announced Friday.

Ward will fight Bika in Oakland, Calif., Ward’s hometown. In the other half of doubleheader, Arthur Abraham will face Carl Froch in a Super Six World Boxing Classic matchup in Helsinki, Finland.

Bika replaced Ande Dirrell, who pulled out of his fight with Ward because of neurological concerns, but the Ward-Bika fight will not be part of the 168-pound tournament. Ward has already qualified for the tournament semifinals.

Bika (28-4, 19 knockouts) is coming off a first-round disqualification loss, the result of punching Jean Paul Mendy while he was down in July. Bika, from Camaroon, has failed in two attempts to win a major title – drawing with Marcus Beyer in 2006 and losing a once-sided decision to Joe Calzaghe later that year.

He also lost a one-sided decision to Lucian Bute in 2007.

Ward (22-0, 13 KOs) dominated Mikkel Kessler en route to a technical-decision victory to win the title in the first round of the Super Six. He then easily outpointed Allan Green in his next tournament fight.
