Brandon Rios defeated Anthony Peterson when Peterson was disqualified in the seventh round for repeated low blows on the Yuriorkis Gamboa-Orlando Salido undercard Saturday in Las Vegas.

Rios was dominating the fight, which was an inside brawl, when Peterson seemed to throw intentional low blows out of desperation.

Peterson (30-1, 20 knockouts) went down from a left hook in the fifth round and was penalized two points for low blows in the seventh. His next low blow resulted in the disqualification.

Rios (25-0-1, 19 KOs) is now in line to face Miguel Acosta for a “regular” 140-pound title.
