Vazquez beats Kim for lightweight belt

Miguel Vazquez out-classes Korean banger Ji-Hoon Kim over 12 rounds to earn a vacant lightweight title in the main event of a Fox Sports Net-televised card from Laredo, Texas, on Saturday.
Vazquez (26-3, 12 KOs), who turned heads by out-pointing then-undefeated Breidis Prescott last year, won by scores of 119-109, 120-108 and 118-110.
The Southern California-based Mexican dominated Kim (21-6, 18 KOs) with an educated jab, lateral movement and by tying up the aggressive fighter on the inside.
In the co-featured bout of the Top Rank Live broadcast undefeated featherweight prospect Miguel Garcia earned a mandatory shot at one of the alphabet titles by stopping still-serviceable fringe contender Cornelius lock in the 11th round of a good fight.
Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs) dropped Lock (19-6-1, 12 KOs) in the third round and proceeded to systematically punish the game southpaw over the second half of the fight until it was waved off at 1:09 of the 11th round.
