Bradley outpoints Abregu over 12

Timothy Bradley won a unanimous decision over Luis Carlos Abregu, outboxing the game undefeated welterweight over 12 surprisingly competitive rounds.
Both Bradley (26-0, 11 knockouts), who won by scores of 118-110, 117-111 and a more realistic 116-112, and Abregu (29-1, 23 KOs) fought with cuts that resulted from headbutts for the majority of the HBO-televised bout that took place in Rancho Mirage, Calif., on Saturday.
Bradley was the faster, more mobile boxer, but Abregu made the 140-pound titleholder miss and even look sloppy at times with his somewhat awkward style and underrated footwork and reflexes. The two fighters traded furiously in spots during the brisk fight, but only Abregu appeared to get hurt periodically.
