Super middleweight contender Enrique Ornelas headlines the Fight Nigh Club card against Julius Fogle on Thursday at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles.

Ornelas (29-6, 19 knockouts) is coming of a one-sided decision loss to Bernard Hopkins in December, for which he moved up in weight. He moves back down to his natural 168 pounds to face Fogle in a scheduled eight-rounder.

Ornelas, a longtime resident of Los Angeles who was born in Mexico, has lost most of his biggest fights – but barley. He lost a majority decision to Sam Soliman and split decisions to both Bronco McKart and Marco Antonio Rubio, although he stopped McKart in a rematch.

However, he has established a reputation for being an entertaining, all-action fighter.

“I pride myself on that, I really do,” Ornelas said.

Fogle (15-3, 10 KOs) was an accomplished amateur figher, having won the U.S. middleweight title in 2002. The resident of Tacoma, Wash., won his first 15 fights but is 0-3 (with one no-contest) in his last four fights.

Fogle, 38, works as a recruiter for the Army when he’s not boxing.

“I don’t know if he lost direction or what,” Ornelas said. “I can’t use that as an excuse, though. I have to be ready to go out there and do my job.”

Also on the card, cruiserweight prospect Deon Elam (10-1, 5 KOs) of Van Nuys faces  in a scheduled six-rounder. Andre Hemphill (8-14-2, 5 KOs) of Philadelphia.

The card will be streamed live on RingTV.com beginning at 7 p.m PT and televised on Fox Sports Net or one of its affiliates.

Tickets, ranging from $19.75 to $250 (on stage), are available by calling TicketMaster at 1-800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the Staples Center box office.
