Former welterweight titleholder Antonio Margarito is scheduled to headline a Latin Fury pay-per-view show from Aguascalientes, Mexico, on May 8.

Margarito's 10-round junior middleweight bout against tough fringe contender Roberto Garcia will be the Mexican veteran's first bout since his boxing license was revoked by the California Athletic Commission for attempting to load his hand wraps before fighting Shane Mosley, who stopped him in nine rounds last January.

Garcia (28-2, 21 KOs), a native of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico who fights out of Weslaco, Texas, enters the fight riding a five-year, 14-bout unbeaten streak. The hard-nosed boxer-puncher figures to test the Margairto (37-6, 27 KOs), who appeared listless in his loss to Mosley and will have been inactive for 15 months by May.

The Top Rank promoted and produced pay-per-view undercard will feature 130-pound contender Jorge Solis (38-2-2), of Guadalajara, Mexico, against one-time title challenger Mario Santiago (21-2-1, 14 KOs), of Ponce, Puerto Rico; undefeated lightweight prospect Brandon Rios (24-0-1, 17 KOs), of Oxnard, Calif., against former 135-pound contender Urbano Antillion (27-1, 20 KOs), of Maywood, Calif., and flyweight prospect Alfonso L├│pez (3-0, 2 KOs), of Mexico City, Mexico, the son of former strawweight and junior flyweight champion and Mexican icon Ricardo L├│pez.
