Vivian Harris, who was taken to a local hospital after collapsing in the ring Friday night in Tucson, Ariz., was released that night and is OK, according to Robert Diaz of Golden Boy Promotions.

Harris was hit in the temple when his head collided with that of Noe Bolanos in the second round of the main event on ESPN2. He immediately put his glove up to his head and took a knee. Then, after he complained about the butt to the referee and the action was halted, he collapsed in his corner.

He was taken out on the ring on a gurney and then transported to University Medical Center as a precaution.

Diaz said he had some tests done on his brain and the results were good.

Harris, a former junior welterweight titleholder, was fighting for Golden Boy for the first time.
