A weekly boxing list compiled by Michael Rosenthal. This week: The countries with the most major titleholders (WBC, IBF, WBA and WBO) per capita. This is based on country of birth. Also, each titleholder is counted once, even if he holds multiple titles.
1. Puerto Rico: 5 titleholders; 1 per every 796,400 residents
2. Panama: 3 titleholders; 1 per 1.2 million
3. Armenia: 2 titleholders; 1 per 1.6 million
4. Namibia: 1 titleholder; 1 per 2.2 million
5. Hungary 2 titleholders; 1 per 5.0 million
6. Denmark 1 titleholder; 1 per 5.5 million
7. Nicaragua 1 titleholder; 1 per 5.7 million
8. Romania: 2 titleholders; 1 per 10.7 million
9. Ukraine: 4 titleholders; 1 per 11.5 million
10. Ghana: 2 titleholders; 1 per 11.9 million
Note: The United States has the most titleholders, eight, but only 1 per every 38.3 million residents. Japan has four titleholders, 1 per every 31.9 million. Mexico has five titleholders, 1 per every 21.9 million.
