Javier Molina, a 2008 U.S. Olympian, has signed with Goossen Tutor Promotions.

The Commerce, Calif., resident will make his professional debut on March 27 in Los Angeles. His opponent has not been determined.

Molina, 19, lost to Bulgarian Boris Georgiev in the first round of the Olympic junior welterweight competition in Bejing, China. His twin brother, Oscar, was a member of the Mexican Olympic team.

Javier Molina’s Olympic teammate Shawn Estrada also fights for Goossen Tutor.

“I’m honored to be part of the Goossen Tutor team, and I can’t wait for March 27 so I can get back in the ring and get my professional career started,” Molina said. “My California fans who’ve watched me as an amateur know what I can do, and I’m excited to let the rest of the world know who I am.

“I like to fight and I promise to do my best not to disappoint anybody who comes to see me.”

Heavyweight Samuel Peter faces Eddie Chambers in the main event on March 27 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
