LOS ANGELES – In front of a raucous crowd in the packed lobby of the Nokia Theater at L.A. Live, WBA welterweight titleholder Antonio Margarito weighed in at a surprisingly light 145.8 pounds for Saturday's title defense against challenger Shane Mosley, who ultimately weighed in at 147 pounds at Friday's weigh-in.

Mosley, looking cut as usual, was asked to step back on the scales after initially weighing in at 147 because members of Team Margarito felt that he was on and off the digital scale too quickly. Mosley obliged and weighed in at 147.2 pounds — .2 over the weight limit. Mosley left the stage area while Margarito tipped the scale at just under 146 pounds, raising some eyebrows among veteran observers, who wondered if the Mexican mauler had overtrained.

However, Margarito's physique looked more ripped than ever and he did not appear to be dehydrated. A few minutes later, Mosley returned to the stage and weighed in at 147 pounds even.
