Gary Russell Jr., the 2008 Olympian who collapsed in his dorm room in Bejing and couldn't compete, will make his professional debut on Friday in Tulsa, Okla., on Showtime's ShoBox.

The two-time national amateur champion from Capital Heights, Md., will face Antonio Reyes of Dallas in a four-round featherweight bout on the undercard of the Leonilo Miranda-Orlando Cruz fight.

Russell collapsed in his dorm room shortly before his weigh-in, which reports attributed to dehydration.

He was the United States' representative at bantamweight, which has a 118-pound limit. The professional featherweight limit is 126 pounds.
