Unbeaten Antillon rolls over Cruz

Urbano Antillon of Maywood, Calif., remained unbeaten Friday night in Los Angeles, stopping Juan Ramon Cruz at 1:35 of the fourth round of a scheduled 10-round lightweight bout.

Antillon, the No. 8-rated junior lightweight by THE RING, overwhelmed his Puerto Rican opponent with his power punches. He knocked Cruz down in the first, third and fourth rounds, the last time for good.

Antillon (25-0, with 18 knockouts) has stopped his last eight opponents. He’s the No. 1 WBC title contender.

Cruz (15-6-1, 11 KOs) had only been knocked out once in his career.

Also on the card, former WBC junior flyweight titleholder Brian Viloria (24-2, 14 KOs) KO’d Benjie Garcia (13-11-3, one KO) in the second round of a flyweight bout. Viloria has won five in a row.
