Plan B is in effect for the fighting pride of Coram, Long Island, N.Y, the Marine—never EX-Marine, mind you—Jamel Herring.

The 135 pounder thought he was getting to tango with Jose Pedraza, but he tells RingTV.com that Pedrza didn’t return the contract.

So, who is plan B, then?

“Alejandro Luna,” says the 31-year-old boxer with a 16-1 mark. “I know he’s coming to fight but I look forward to it. Pedraza bailed out.”

And the 2012 Olympian thought maybe he’d be fighting July 15 at Nassau Coliseum, on the PBC/Lou DiBella card near his hood. Nah. “Just July 29 now,” he said.

That means a Brooklyn session, under the Adrien Broner-Mikey Garcia scrap. Showtime will show portions of that card.

Luna is age 25, with a 22-0 mark, so this could well mean a step up from Pedraza, the former IBF 130-pound titleholder who was coming in off a loss to Gervonta Davis.
