Junior featherweight Azat Hovhannisyan has a new opponent for his eight-round bout Friday night, Golden Boy Promotions announced Wednesday afternoon.

Hovhannisyan will now face Isao Carranza in the main event of the “L.A. Fight Club” card at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. Estrella TV will broadcast the bout, as part of a tripleheader, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT.

The hard-hitting Hovhannisyan (11-2, 10 knockouts), originally from Yerevan, Armenia and now residing in the Los Angeles area, knocked out Diuhl Olguin in the sixth round on March 23.

The 28-year-old Hovhannisyan has won his last five bouts, all by knockout, since his majority decision loss to Walter Santibanes in November of 2014.

“This will be a toe-to-toe battle from round one and will show how good Azat is,” Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Robert Diaz told RingTV.com.

Carranza (15-8-1, 9 KOs), who resides in Mexico City, was stopped by former bantamweight titleholder Juan Carlos Payano in his most recent bout on Jan. 13. He is winless in his last three fights.

In a clash of unbeaten junior middleweights, Alexis Rocha squares off against Cesar Valenzuela in an eight-round bout.

In his most recent bout on March 10, the 19-year-old Rocha (7-0, 5 KOs) stopped Marcus Beckford after the fourth round. Valenzuela (7-0, 2 KOs) will be returning to the ring for the first time in over three years.

Opening the “Boxeo Estelar” telecast will be a six-round super middleweight bout between unbeaten Niko Valdes (4-0, 4 KOs) and Ernesto Berrospe (11-10, 6 KOs).

Two more fights will round out the card.

RingTV.com will begin streaming the entire Golden Boy card, beginning at 9 p.m. ET/ 6 p.m. PT.
