Junior featherweight standouts Adam Lopez and Daniel Roman will square off in the main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation broadcast on Jan. 20, Gordon Hall, Showtime Sports Senior VP and the executive producer of the popular series, confirmed to RingTV.com

The 10-round bout will take place at the Bally’s Event Center in Atlantic City, N.J.

Hall stated the Lopez-Roman fight will headline a four-bout broadcast.

Lopez (16-0-1, eight knockouts) was victorious in his last bout on Nov. 11, knocking out Carlos Valcarcel in the eighth round in Philadelphia. Prior to that bout Lopez fought to a 10-round split decision Roman Reynoso on July 22.

“This will be Adam’s fifth appearance on ShoBox and his most meaningful bout to date,” Hall told RingTV in an email. “A victory would solidify his rise from prospect to contender and hopefully put him in position for a title shot in the near future.”

Roman (21-2-1, 7 KOs) won a one-sided eight round decision over Marlon Olea in his last bout on Nov. 18. The Garden Grove, Calif. resident has won his last 13 bouts in a row.

Jan. 20 will mark the second time Roman has fought outside of California.

Lopez is ranked No. 4 by the WBA, while Roman is ranked No. 5.

Penciled for the rest of the card is an eight-round super middleweight bout between unbeaten Ronald Ellis (12-0-1, 10 KOs) and Christopher Brooker (11-2, 5 KOs).

Kenneth Sims (10-0, 3 KOs) will square off against Welllington Arias Romero (11-0-1, 5 KOs) in an eight-round welterweight bout.

Bantamweight Stephon Young (15-0-3, 6 KOs) is also scheduled to fight on the card.
