It has been over 13 months since Tomoki Kameda last appeared in a ring. That stretch will end Saturday night as the popular fighter from Japan finally makes his return to action.

Kameda will face former world title challenger Cecilio Santos in a 10-round bout at the Gimnasio G2 in Iztapalapa, Distrito Federal, Mexico. The bout will open the beIN Sports en Espanol broadcast, beginning at 11 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. PT.

Kameda (31-2, 19 knockouts) has lost his two most recent fights, both at the hands of Jamie McDonnell. Many boxing scribes believed Kameda did enough to defeat McDonnell in their first clash in May of last year.

The younger brother of Koki and Daiki Kameda, Tomoki held the WBO bantamweight title before challenging McDonnell.

Originally from Tokyo, Kameda trains in the Mexico City area, where Iztapalapa is located.

Santos (31-30-6, 19 KOs) has fought a who’s who of bantamweight contenders and world titleholders throughout his almost 20-year career.

He has been utilized mostly as an opponent, as was the case in his most recent bout on Sept. 24, when he was stopped by unbeaten prospect Batyrzhan Jukembayev in two rounds.

In the main event of the Zanfer Promotions card, Anabel Ortiz (22-3, 4 KOs) will defend her WBA female minimumweight title against Debora Rengifo (7-2-1, 3 KOs) of Venezuela.
