Jack Culcay, who holds a secondary junior middleweight title, secured a minor victory over Demetrius Andrade on Monday.

Culcay’s promoter, Sauerland Event won the purse bid at the WBA’s Panama offices with an offer of $425,144 compared to Banner Promotions tender of $201,000. The fight will land in Germany with Oct. 22, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 the possible dates. The minimum bid was $150,000 with 75 percent afforded to the titleholder and 25 percent to the opponent. The WBA Treasurer, Aurelio Fiengo, was in charge of the bidding.

Showtime has expressed interest in broadcasting Andrade’s next bout after he stopped Willie Nelson in the 12th round in an impressive showing on June 11. Banner Promotions president Artie Pelullo, along with co-promoter Joe DeGuardia and manager Ed Farris met with Showtime president Stephen Espinoza last month about a future on the network.

Andrade (23-0, 16 knockouts) was assured of an October date on Showtime, Pelullo and DeGuardia said. Culcay (22-1, 11 KOs) is a German-based Ecuadorian who has amassed his record against relatively light opposition and has fought mostly in Germany. Andrade and Culcay met in the amateurs with Andrade, a former U.S. Olympian, winning a wide decision in the 2007 World Championship quarterfinals.
