Middleweight contender Danny Jacobs plans to return in September, either on Sept. 9 or Sept. 16 in a rematch against Sergio Mora, Jacobs advisor Keith Connolly told RingTV.com on Thursday.

The Sept. 9 date will be at a venue in Las Vegas while the 16th is targeted for Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Jacobs was initially eying to return July 30 as the co-feature to Leo Santa Cruz-Carl Frampton at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. But he was pulled so he and Mora could headline their own card.

Brooklyn’s Jacobs (31-1, 28 knockouts) last fought in December when he annihilated Peter Quillin in 85 seconds. The first time he and Mora fought last August, the two traded knockdowns in the first round before the fight was stopped in the second round after Mora could not continue because of an injured ankle, giving Jacobs a TKO victory. The plan is to have Jacobs, the WBA’s “regular champion” fight again after his bout in September to give him two fights in 2016.

Connolly also advises former titleholder Luis Collazo, who returns against Sammy Vasquez on July 16 in the co-feature to Deontay Wilder-Chris Arreola at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama on Fox. Connolly hopes a win for Collazo puts him in position for yet another big-ticket fight in the talent-rich welterweight division.

Connolly is also in business with talented undefeated middleweight Sergiy Derevyanchenko (8-0, 6 KOs), a former Olympian and top amateur who returns to action as the headliner on July 21 against former titleholder Sam Soliman at Foxwoods in a PBC on ESPN show (8 p.m. ET) in a world title eliminator. The co-feature pits Ievgen Khytrov (13-0, 11 KOs) against Paul Mendez (19-2-2, 9 KOs).

Blue-chip prospect and Connolly-client Chordale Booker (2-0, 2 KOs) returns to action on July 2 in Reading, Pennsylvania in a PBC on ESPN card; Booker is a former 2015 National Champion who fights at junior middleweight. Rising prospect Titus Williams (5-0, 2 KOs) also returns on July 9 on a PBC on ESPN show in Trenton, New Jersey. Both are returning against opponents to be named.
