Diego De La Hoya will get a chance to perform on the kind of stage that was routine to his famous cousin.

De La Hoya, whose cousin is Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya, has been added to the Canelo-Khan non-televised undercard for May 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on HBO PPV.

Mexico’s De La Hoya (13-0, 7 knockouts) is set to face Shane Mosley-trained Rocco Santomauro (13-0, 1 KO) in a junior featherweight bout scheduled for either eight or 10 rounds. Ireland’s Jason Quigley (10-0, 9 KOs) is also set to appear on the preliminary undercard on May 7 against James de la Rosa (23-3, 13 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight bout.

De La Rosa was supposed to face former middleweight titleholder David Lemieux on March 12 but the fight was canceled when Lemieux missed weight. Lemieux will take on Glen Tapia in the May 7 co-feature. De La Hoya and Quigley will open the streamed broadcast on RingTV.com, HBO Boxing’s YouTube page and WWW.GoldenBoyPromotions.com, as well as additional websites where Ring TV is offered (7 p.m. ET) before the start of the PPV undercard.

“I am looking forward to being part of one of the biggest boxing events of 2016,” Diego De La Hoya said in a press release. “This is my chance to perform in front of a big stage and give everyone a great fight against another undefeated top prospect.”

The undercard also includes welterweight Rashidi Ellis (14-0, 11 KOs); featherweight Lamont Roach Jr. (10-0, 3 KOs); and newly signed junior welterweight David Mijares in his pro debut. Opponents will be announced soon.

“We have a stacked undercard set for the fans on May 7 and luckily for the fans watching from home, they will also be able to get in on the action by watching the impressive Diego De La Hoya and Jason Quigley on select channels and various digital outlets,” Oscar De La Hoya, chairman and CEO of Golden Boy Promotions said in the release.
