Featherweight contender Ronny Rios notched his most impressive win to date in his most recent bout. Now he is ready to ride that momentum into his next fight.
Rios returns to action, June 3, at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Robert Diaz advised RingTV. No opponent has been selected as of press time.
The 10-round bout will top a “Boxeo Estelar” broadcast on Estrella TV, beginning at 10 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. PT. RingTVLive.com will air the entire card, beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT.
The fight will take place on the eve of the highly-anticipated showdown between WBO junior lightweight titleholder Francisco Vargas and Orlando Salido, which will take place minutes away at the StubHub Center in Carson.
In his last bout on Nov. 21, Rios won a hard-fought, 10-round unanimous decision over Jayson Velez. The bout took place on the televised pay-per-view broadcast supporting the Canelo Alvarez-Miguel Cotto middleweight championship fight in Las Vegas.
Rios (25-1, 10 knockouts), who resides in Santa Ana, California, has won his last two bouts since being stopped by Robinson Castellanos in Oct. of 2014.
The 26-year-old Rios is managed by Frank Espinoza.
