The worst-kept secret is no longer a secret.

As first reported by RingTV.com, Barclays Center in Brooklyn will host Keith Thurman’s WBA welterweight title fight against Shawn Porter on June 25 on CBS, it was announced on Saturday. Jesus Cuellar will face former three-division champion Abner Mares in the co-main event.

Thurman (26-0, 22 knockouts) and former titleholder Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs) were supposed to fight on March 12 at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut but a car accident involving Thurman left him with neck and lower back injuries, pushing the fight back to June. The rescheduled fight was already set. All that was missing was an announcement on the venue until Saturday.

“Keith Thurman against Shawn Porter is one of the best matchups that can be made in the welterweight division right now,” Lou DiBella, President of DiBella Entertainment, said in a press release. “Fans in attendance at Barclays Center and those watching on CBS will witness a passing of the torch as the hard-punching world titleholder Thurman and the highly skilled former champion Porter vie to prove who will be the next heir to the throne in the post-Mayweather era of the 147-pound division. The explosive co-main event between Jesus Cuellar and Abner Mares will give fans a fight to remember.”
