2015 RING Awards: Finalists for Most Inspirational

The past year was packed with drama in and out of the ring, including some memorable fights, big surprises and important milestones.

Who and what stood out the most?

Find out when THE RING reveals its annual year-end awards for 2015 in January. The categories: Fighter, Fight, Knockout, Trainer, Upset, Event, Comeback, Round, Prospect and Most Inspirational.

Leading up to the announcement, we will give you the five finalists in one category each day for 10 days. Day 1: Most Inspirational. The award recognizes those who have accomplished something exceptional outside the ring.



The finalists (in alphabetical order):

ANTHONY CROLLA
Overcame potentially career-ending injuries sustained while foiling a burglary attempt to become a world titleholder.

OSCAR DE LA HOYA
Fought back following a stint in rehab to take proactive charge of his company, Golden Boy Promotions.

AMIR KHAN
Former 140-pound titleholder continues to make trips to his ancestral country of Pakistan following school massacre.

BOYD MELSON
Junior middleweight prospect donates his purses to stem cell research in honor of a friend with a spinal cord injury.

MAURO RANALLO
Showtime broadcaster continues to raise awareness of Bipolar Disorder with which he has been long diagnosed.
